At Wholistic Gangster, we believe in actively healing from your past traumas, in pursuit of a happier, fuller life; And one of the more effective ways to begin that journey is by exploring your inner child.

When needs for love, recognition, praise, and other types of emotional support go unmet in childhood, those unresolved emotions can start to resurface. Especially if they are tied to a traumatic experience. Thankfully though, it’s never too late to heal.

If you do decide to pursue this path to enlightenment, be aware that it won't be an easy road at first. Learning to recognize and accept the things that caused you pain in childhood, can be an emotionally draining process. But by bringing these defining moments out into the light of day, you'll begin to better understand the impact they truly have on your adult life.

This is not something you can achieve overnight, however, if you're open to the process the results will be so worth the effort. And as a bonus, I am here to help you with this journey.

First things first, you're going to have to start by shifting your mindset. Let's say this mantra aloud together: "I CAN & and I WILL!"

A lot of times in life we tell ourselves that we can't, but I'm here to tell you that you CAN! Can we talk some hard truths for a moment? The only thing holding you back right now is YOU. 

But that's okay because you're not alone, and the fact that you know the role you play in limiting yourself, you can start to unpack those thoughts and shift your perspective. It can take a while to truly recognize how capable, talented and powerful you are, especially with the stigmas we're taught growing up in our current society. But once you realize that you are AWESOME, all of the doors are going to open for you.

What pains your inner child?

Validate those feelings for a moment, really resonate with those emotions and then let them go. Now, let's strip away those subconscious limiting beliefs that are holding you back from reaching your full potential by saying that mantra again:


Learning to heal from the past and increase your self-compassion and self-love can be difficult to process, but there are a few simple steps that you can take to begin to release these limiting beliefs from your life:

  • Write out your negative beliefs: Then read them out loud. More times than not, you'll realize how silly these limiting beliefs actually are.
  • Determine what event or instance instilled these beliefs: Do some serious soul searching here. Subconscious limiters often stem from childhood traumas, which is why connecting to your inner child can be so helpful throughout this process.
  • Determine your new positive beliefs: This step is crucial to your healing process because it allows you to regain control of your life and decide how you choose to rewire your triggers.
